“A few biographical rules are broken in this chilling chronicle of serial killer David Edward Maust's life, which is precisely why
it stands apart from others in this category. That it's written as a novel isn't a new twist, nor are the numerous legal and
psychological reports and articles that are included within its pages. Nor are the recreations of the crimes. What makes it
different to me is that it felt like Mrs. Maust partnered this undertaking with ghosts!

"That is eerie! Not only did I feel like I was there in every moment, but I constantly felt chills, and the little hairs on my neck
stood on end because I truly felt like I was inside David’s head. Other books I have read on serial killers have been great with
facts, details and creative writing, but the eerie psychological plane Mrs. Maust used in narrating most of her book
overwhelmed all of those other aspects and left me enthralled.

"It’s strange and emotional but an overall brilliant read!”

Blood Stained Testimonials
"Amazing! I couldn't put it down! Ms. Maust takes her readers to another dimension with this kind of insight into a killer's
psychosis. I look forward to reading more of her books; I just ordered
Glass Windows.

"Kudos!"

- Frances Hughes, North Carolina

"This could almost be labeled a horror story in a lot of respects. Very creative writing, suspenseful and thrilling.

"I loved it."

- Steve F., Washington D.C.

"I just want to thank you for this endeavor that you have done by writing and telling (us) about David Maust.  I never had the
opportunity of meeting him, although I had heard a little of him years ago.  David was almost like a stranger to that part of the
family.

"This book tells so much and (it's) so vivid; it's like you are there and he's talking to you.  I can almost feel his pain.  My heart
goes out to these families and I am sure of the pain they have and will always have.  I pray for their comfort and peace.
If I lost a child like they have, I would be bitter but this book kind of puts closure to the deaths of their children.

"I thank you Dory for putting yourself in the position to do this project, to open the closed eyes and minds of so many
including us.

"You never know unless you are told.

"It's so sad; I have cried so much reading this, thinking of a small child that never grew up on the inside of this man, never
feeling love, and what he felt was love was nothing but abuse to satisfy another sick soul.  I pray that this will get in the hands
of the right people and that some day, things like what happened to David, will not be pushed under the carpet.

"It's way overdue with much blood shed and grief for so many."

- Donna Fleming, Pennsylvania

"Blood Stained is a very intriguing book that is very well written and thought out. I didn't want to put it down. David Maust was
a monster (and) he even admitted this very fact. What shocked me about the book, is that even though he was a monster, I
felt great empathy for him. This book made me analyze everything that I taught my own children. David Maust could have
been a great asset to society and what scares me about this book is that it could so easily happen to anyone. I have read
many books about serial killers and this author was one of the best at making the reader understand the mindset of David
Maust."

"As a native of Hammond, Indiana where the serial killer chronicled in this biography murdered his last three victims, I was
shocked when he was arrested in 2003. I didn't know any of the victims, but my home town was in an uproar and I stayed
abreast of any new development in the news. I used to be an avid reader, and I'm sorry to say that with life being as busy as
it's been, that slipped to the back of my priorities. "Blood Stained" changed that.

"When I read this book I couldn't put it down. Mrs. Maust, who is not related to the killer David Maust, used a completely
different approach to writing a biography and I loved it. She also did her research 120% and some of what I learned in her
book about our system failures and the media lies just blew me away."

- Stacy Schmidt, Hammond, IN
"Dory, I finished the book and the story wrought just about every emotion you can think
of in me.  I am a mother and to be made privy to how David was treated by his mother, is
unimaginable, almost to the point of my questioning it's validity.  How could someone
really treat their own child in that way??!! To have him sent away and pretty much left to
his own devices and no one in his life ever really caring about him.  What a tortured
existence David lived.  Sure makes you question the 'system' and who is in charge and
running that system.  Thanks for bringing his story to print and hopefully, it will make
people stop and think about what is really going on in our world and stand up for what's
right, especially when it comes to children.

"I think every parent should read this book so they can be made aware of
what could happen not only in how they raise their children but be sure they know who
their kids are hanging around with.  I wonder if there could have been anything that
could have "turned the tide" so to speak for David?  I like to think so, but guess we
could be kept guessing on that one for a mighty long time!!!!"
